Lega
Pauper
Lipsia

The project that started it all — and still the one closest to my heart. My first ever playmat design for Magic, alongside a series of posters and social media assets created for my beloved Pauper to the People community.

I was responsible for creating a playmat, posters for both the first and second editions, and various social media assets. From bold tournament visuals to eye-catching stream graphics, I had full creative control over the look and feel. The only requirement? Include the right info and keep it hype — challenge accepted.

For this one, I got to wear a few hats: illustrator, designer, and even live commentator. Lega Pauper Lipsia is our very own local Pauper league in Leipzig — born out of pure love for the format and a healthy dose of community building spirit.

The first edition of the league featured six regular events, a Top 8 qualifier, and a Top 8 knockout tournament that we streamed live on Twitch (yes, I even got behind the mic as one of the casters).

Each event brought together 25–30 players and was held in collaboration with LPI (Lega Pauper Italia), City Comics, Libelle, and the Pauper to the People community.

The second edition is leveling up: eight events, a Top 8 qualifier, and finals — sponsored by Ultimate Guard, again partnered with LPI, and hosted at Libelle and Pöge-Haus. With 64 players per event, the stakes are higher — culminating in a Top 8 playoff where the grand prize is a bye for Paupergeddon Lecco, the biggest Pauper tournament in the world.

What started as a local experiment has quickly become a success story. The league boosted our community, brought in new players, and gave us the excuse we needed to print some cool stuff, play good Magic, and have an amazing time doing it.
